fred_tededmondsson
Hello, all, I am new to using PrestaShop, and I'm having trouble doing something that I know must be very simple... There are no PrestaShop 1.4 templates that have horizontal categories. I am not understanding how the modules/positions dialogues work very well. I can't move the categories block into the content pane from the LiveEdit mode, and I also don't understand the difference between the header and the "top of the page" in the positions section. I don't really understand the positions dialogue; it's showing all kinds of stuff in the header section that isn't displayed on the site. How do I get horizontal categories, and generically, how do I enable and disable modules? Or determine which ones are enabled? And what is the distinction between the top and the header of a page? PrestaDesigner.com
Hello Fred, You see modules on "Header of pages" because some modules needs to insert some js/css code on to the header of page (into the source code between <head> </head> tag) If you will look at modules located on the "Header of Pages" then you will look the source code of your shop you will see that the modules are positioned exactly like they are in the admin panel. The modules on "Top of pages" are that modules you can see them on the top of your shop (without looking on the source code, i.e : Currency block, Language Block, etc) In order to enable a module, you will have to install it first, then to configure it. (just go on Back Office > Modules) Also, let me tell you that there are 1.4 Prestashop templates with horizontal categories, and you can find some of them on my prestashop theme club. fred_tededmondsson
Hi, Cornel, Thanks for clarifying; I understand now. I like your themes and I've bookmarked them, although they are still too visually complex for what I need for this project. Thanks! Fred
