hippooflove
I am really strugling with the product URL tiltles for my website. I am a complete novice (plus getting to old for this) and trying to use the "Improve your SEO" on the products page. As an example my urls look like this at the moment: http://www.bmhtrading.co.uk/product.php?id_product=20.I would like it to describe a "3 gallon champagne fountain" in the URL.Please could somebody tell me exactly what I should type in these "Improve your SEO boxes".I really appreciate your help and guidance.Hippooflove
L. Brett Sinclair
you need to activate "friendly URL" and the setup (.HTaccess)I can't get it to work with Godaddy cause I must be dumb, but people have no problem using today with other hosts
hippooflove
THANKS for the reply Brett. I know exactly how you feel.I can see the friendly URL box, but do not know where or how to do the setup (.HTaccess). It says you need to change the root. Is this something you just tick or do I have to actually change some programming.Hippooflove
L. Brett Sinclair
the htaccess.txt file is in your root directory.you need to rename it to .htaccess.Now based on your host, it is my understanding that you need to modify a little that file. But you need to run the search on the forum because I have read several changes to be made based on host.Good luck
