White page after uploading from 1.3.1.1 to 1.4.3

I upgraded from 1.3.1.1 to 1.4.3. the upgrading seemed to be successful, there was one little sql-error, but beneath that, no errors. I can also log in to the backend administration and work as usual. but the frontend is just a blank page... no images, no text, no error messages, nothing.

 

do you have an idea, what I would need to check or change to get it working?
