lynnetted
Hi! Each time I test our BlockNewsletter on our homepage I get the error:"E-mail address already registered". I can see that the email address is added to the database after I click the button. Does anyone know why i would be getting this error and how I can fix it? Thanks! lynnetted
Hi! Each time I test our BlockNewsletter on our homepage I get the error:"E-mail address already registered". I can see that the email address is added to the database after I click the button. Does anyone know why i would be getting this error and how I can fix it? Thanks! Lynnette So the problem is actually more involved than first described. If a user subscribes to the newsletter, they get an error: "E-mail address already registered" - and the email address is added to the database. If that user UNSUBSCRIBES to the newsletter, they get the message: "E-mail address not registered" - AND every time they try and subscribe after that they get that message. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling the module, and the result is that the newsletter table is deleted. I restore the table and still get the errors described above. Help! Thanks!
lynnetted
Finally a result! Not EXACTLY a successful solution - but now the problem is different. First - I am using the Velvet Sky Theme and it has a simple Newsletter Block on the front that only allows one to subscribe. You cannot unsubscribe from this form. If you 'hook' the Newsletter Block to the "HOMEPAGE CONTENT" AND also to another spot (like Left Column or Right Column), then you will get an error when you subscribe to the Newsletter with the Newsletter form on the front page. I think I will have to make a video to explain the behavior fully, but if you do not have the newsletter block hooked anywhere but in the "Header of Pages" and the "Homepage Content" - you do not get the error. You also have no place for your subscribers to unsubscribe..... I presume this is an issue with the Theme not the Newsletter Block. Sincerely- Lynnette
joenmass
I also has the same problem as the others concerning the newsletter block. Lynnetted is correct, I unhooked all references to all other positions except for the column that I wanted it to show (in my case the right column) and everything started working perfectly.
