TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to save adresses

I have a presumably long standing bug in a shop of mine.

I get the error as stated in the title:

Technical error: unable to save adresses
Details:
Error thrown: [object XMLHttpRequest]
Text status: parsererror

I am running 1.4.1

But here is the strange thing It seems to only happen in IE and not Firefox?

Can someone please explain to me what I can do to resolve this!

Hi, I have exactly same problem but in all web browsers.

I’ve fixed this error by accessing “SEO & URLs” under “Preferences” in the admin area and disabling automatic redirect to canonical URL. Also wrote a more elaborate post in the above mentioned thread.

i've got the same error. Don't know what the function - canonical URL - does.

Or shall i just disable this function...
