KrisSchCom
Hi - I'm trying to install PrestaShop with no luck. On step 3, either clicking verify database or trying to go to the next step - both check things, but no error message and it won't go to the next step. The test email sends okAll permissions on folders have been changed.I've looked thru the forums but can't find anything else.Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks - Kris

KrisSchCom
I haven't gotten that far in the installation. Actually, what I've done in the meantime is uploaded everything again in a new directory and that seems to work now.
Dinasty
Yes the problem seems to be with the password you use, for some, yet unknown, reason ( this can be a issue for Prestashop developers and coders) when you connect to database with a complicated yet secure password that contains lots of symbols like @#$%^%^&* this happens - it is not a visible error you just get stuck. Your installation just won't go further past step 3 regardless if all other stuff looks ok like you can connect to database and you can send a check e-mail from installation page. It might be a good iddea to check the logs but Guys I have changed the password and dropped the secure stuff change it to test123 and worked fine got over step 3 like I should from the start, remember to change the password again to a more uncommon and secure one after like test345 Hope this will help you
