Fresh install

I've been messing up my old install of 1.4.3 because of some template and module issues. I want to do a fresh install with no extra modules or templates and attach my old database as it has a lot of info in it. Any advice on how to accomplish this since it is not an "upgrade" but a fresh install? When I use the old db name in the install procedure, it tells me the db already exists and won't progress beyond the db screen. When I use a new db extension, I get the default products and not all the products I've entered....

Hi,

1- make a backup of your files and your database, in any case.
2- Replace old files with new files via FTP, keeping the settings.inc.php from the config
3- replace the img folder with your backup img and all other files, as it was a update

I suppose this should be find, no new installation should be necessary.
