the hat lady Posted July 13, 2011 Share Posted July 13, 2011 I lost my site and had to go to an old back up the more recent one being incomplete.They old one does not have half my products and phots I loaded or all the catogories descriptiosn I loaded besies the customers and order history.I do have some files from a more recent download (incomplete).I would like to try to load some to maybe get this info. Can anyone advise whcih files contain the products and atribute info?If I upload the image file separately how will thye link. the hat lady Posted July 14, 2011 Author Share Posted July 14, 2011 I selected the upload sql on my host site and am hoping the database will restore my information and hard work but it has been 2 hours now that seems like a long time to wait to upload 7250 files. The icon just sits on the screen saying restoring database. I am unsure how long I should wait. IF it is better to us the ftp filezilla then which file to I move it too. dazzza Posted July 14, 2011 Share Posted July 14, 2011 As you mentioned that the files of the new site are incomplete I would be very cautious of making any database changes.If you do continue you need to access the database via "php My Admin" via Cpanel if you have it. Export your current database as a backup & keep it safe.Drop all the tables on the current database & then import your new database by clicking import & selecting the file.But as I said it's risky because of the incomplete files. I also compared the image file size of c and p and my incomplete of has the full lot of images so if I get the new database back in I suppose I could upload the other c and p img file and i hope with the same id number they marry up. I only have afew images to reload and bit to do but all in all pretty good. Thanks so much for help.I finally thing.I can search and find website on Fire foc but on IE it has a default web page error.
