What I'd love to do is to add a gift card section where visitors of my website can pay for and send the gift card to their friends by email. Later on, the receiver of the gift card will receive a code on his email where he could login to the website and purchase an item or more depending on the amount of money specified when ordering the gift card. When all the items are in the cart, the receiver of the gift card will not pay or register to checkout, but instead will type the code of their gift card in a box so they don't have to checkout at all.For now I'm thinking to make the gift card an item (product), so that gift sender can buy a gift card just lik they do with regular products, then I will manually send an email to the receiver of the gift card which includes an opt code (discount code), so that when they go to the site and select items they can insert the discount code which will deduct the gift card amount from the sum of products purchased.Please advice...
