Migrated Shop, Various Errors, followed exact steps

Hi, i know this has been mentioned before, but i'm at a complete loss..

i have been trying very hard to get my shop setup on a new host, however i seem to always be running into problems. Here are the steps i have taken (i am running Prestashop 1.4.2.5)

1. made backup of Shop
2. made backup of DB
3. uploaded all content onto new host server
4. created DB and populated with shop DB
5. configured settings.inc.php to match DB setting and shop root
6. Edited configuration table in DB to new shop domain/ssh

however when i tried to access my store i was presented with an Error 500 message. I contacted my host and the reason was because

"the MCrypt PHP-module was not loaded, we enabled it now"

which removed the Error 500, but now i am notified that

"The requested URL /eazzyshop/ was not found on this server."

you should check, if there is an old path name in your shop's config files
or any rewrite rules that might add /eazzyshop to the URL.

where can i change the re-write rules? i cannot access the front or backend! also i created a blank .htaccess file and also populated it, but this did not work

please can someone help me, its very frustrating at the moment, i'm not sure why this is occurring when the domain is there!

If you have changed the domain or path on database have you changed the "__PS_BASE_URI__' on config/settings.inc.php ?
