sunandmoon21
Hi,I have a big problem generating SEO friendly urls for my product pages. I have a few languages added to my webshop and since I manually updated product names for every language, now I would like to generate SEO friendly urls for them. Of course I would like to generate such urls that are relevant to the actual language (based on the product names). My question is if it possible to automatize this task, as it would be a very tedious and tiring process to manually generate SEO friendly urls for all products for every single language (especially if you have thousands of products).I tried generating new htaccess file but it didn't update the urls for every language (I have SEO friendly urls activated in BO).Does anyone have idea how to do this? KTech
Friendly URL are generated from the product name. So your problem is not clear. I think you should give an example.
sunandmoon21
Friendly URL are generated from the product name. So your problem is not clear. I think you should give an example. Please, read the first post mate, I wrote in detail what's the problem. I know that friendly url is generated from product name, but let's say I updated all product names in English (default language) and German languages, so how can I generate friendly urls in both languages automatically? Also another problem is that whenever I do an import (it doesn't matter what I import), the German friendly urls gets renamed (the English friendly urls remains the same). The German friendly urls gets renamed to the English friendly urls. I tried to use "URL Rewritten" field in import, in order to avoid getting the German friendly urls renamed with the English friendly urls, but no matter what friendly urls I adjusted to that field, it never worked, the German friendly urls always gets renamed.Anyone have a solution for this? KTech
Please, read the first post mate, I wrote in detail what’s the problem. I know that friendly url is generated from product name, but let’s say I updated all product names in English (default language) and German languages, so how can I generate friendly urls in both languages automatically? Wow, no need to be aggressive. Perhaps your message was not enough clear!URL are not changed when product name change. Yes, it's a problem. I've written a module for this but it's so old that I had forgot about it. I will try to release it but I need to check it with Presta > 1.2.5 so will take some time. Sorry, if I wasn't clear enough in the first post...I just have this problem for a while now with no solution, and I find it as a big problem, so I'm very surprised that almost nobody mentioned this issue in the forum before...Anyway, I would be happy if you could let me know, once you can update your module to work with PS 1.4, as it would be a life-saver for me.Thanks mate. pralbin
Any solution to this yet? I have the same problem. I'm kind of new with Prestashop and don't have so much experience with it since before.
