Search results grouped by category

Is there any setting or add-on that will allow for search results to be grouped by category?

For example if you searched for Star Wars you would have X number of results for a Books category, a separator, then Y number of results for a Movie category, a separator, followed by Z number of results for the Soundtrack category. It doesn't have to be exactly like that. I just wanted to give an idea of what I was looking for.

If there isn't anything available is there something that could be added to the search results sort by drop-down (Price:Low;Price:High;Product Name:A-Z;......)

Please let me know if I am missing it or if you need additional detail?
