steve_c
Hi allThis is driving me insane...Fresh install. I've deleted all the categories and only added one to the homepage - being ties. Now if you go to my homepage - http://www.malfordoflondon.com you will still see IPODS and LAPTOPS etc in the category list!If you click the "CATEGORIES" heading you will see the ties cat. If you click on IPODS you get an error because it does not exist.Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
steve_c
Can anyone help with this? It seems that only the front page has this odd problem. Thanks
bellini13
looks like a caching problem.confirm the following things1) which version of smarty is being used? In Back office, preferences look at "Use Smarty 2 instead of 3" field.2) Do you have force compile turned on? BO->preferences->performance3) purge your smarty cache. remove the contents of the following folders, but leave the index.php file there/tools/smarty/cache//tools/smarty/compile//tools/smarty_v2/cache//tools/smarty_v2/compile/
steve_c
Hi I have cleared all cache files and tried both smartys. The problem is only on the front page. The category list seems to be populated when I clear the cache and then never again. You can check this at the moment - there is "Ties" on the front page This is a big problem for me as I can't really keep clearing the cache every time I want to add or remove a category / subcategory. Is this a problem with this template? If so am not too happy as I've just paid 80 Euros for it!
steve_c
You can see it's a major problem here:http://malfordoflondon.com/This page has "Ties" with no subcategoryhttp://malfordoflondon.com/5-tiesThis page has "Ties" and "E. Marinella" Subcategoryhttp://malfordoflondon.com/1-homeThis page has "Ties" and "E. Marinella" and "Drakes" Subcategory It's a bit of a mess. bellini13
hard to say what the issue is. i would likely start with the theme author, check if they have overriden the category block templates or css files.
steve_c
You're correct - it's the template Could it be a folder permission somewhere that I have missed do you think? Thanks
steve_c
If I turn off caching in preferences - it works. Is there going to be a massive difference in performance if I disable caching? Thanks
