Icon Missing for send to friend & print + improve look

Hello,
it has just been 2 days since i m using prestashop 1.4.3 and i m loving it.
It is just perfect for my needs
Wonderful Script !!

Well i need a little help in setting this up.

Prob 1:
Just click on any product that i have added and you can see the details and stuff nicely.
Below the image
there r 2 options
Print & Send to friend , the current icons are a simple Bullet , i want to change them
How do i go about ??

Prob 2:
The category bar on the left is too dull , i want to improve its look & feel , what files should i edit ??
I wanna work on the font , spacing , colour and maybe some dynamic features if possible

I have subcategries for TESTING INSTRUMENTS in my site , they expand and collapse on clicking , can i get a dropdown on the side type thing for it ??
(Eg : Start >> All programmes mouseover , we get options on the right side >> that way )

i am using a paid third party theme called pres8a
