[Solved] All Product images gone after upgrade to 1.4.3

Recommended Posts

As the title says.
I Just upgraded to 1.4.3 from 1.4.0.17, and all my product images have vanished.

The are not in the BO or FO. But they are in the img/p folder.
Using smarty 3 (2 made everything vanish)
Permissions are the same as before
I have re-generated the htaccess and the thumbnails but nothing working.

Wierdly, the subcategory images are showing?

Please please help, I had just finished my website and was ready to go live when i stupidly decided to upgrade to the latest version! Eeeek!

Not sure how, but it is now fixed :0)

I just fiddled with some settings in the BO, and re-generated thumbnails and htaccess after every change and it seems to have worked.

Sorry that's not much help to the rest of you but, I have no idea how I fixed it.

Am having similar trouble. I upgraded to 1.4.3.0 from 1.4.2.5, and had to re-import my products to take advantage of a new feature available on SVN for adding custom product add dates. To use this feature I had to delete existing products - no problem, because it's a new shop still in dev. Everything was ok until I went to upload the images again. Doesn't work at all. I've even divied my CSV into small pieces, but the import fails every time (whereas before it worked like a charm).

The one big difference I see is that, whereas before all images were created directly in img>p, now they are creating subfolders img>p>4. Is that because I have added a category? (before all products were in "home", now home>yarn).

I can upload the images 1 by 1 from the BO, but ACK! For +300 products ??!!

:-S ¿que pasa?

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having the same problem, luckily I know what my problem is as this happened the last time I upgraded.

My host has disabled the exec function which is needed for resizing images, I have asked them to fix it as they did before.

To check if this is your problem, change ('display_errors', 'off'); to on (or maybe it says false normally, I can't remember) but turn it to on, then try to manually upload a picture. If you get a message telling you exec has been disabled, you know that this is your problem.

Good luck
