waleedfarrukh
Hello,I have setup prestashop cart for a shop. I have changed its template (.tpl) files a little to change how prices are displayed and some other minor changing as well. I wanted to know if these changes could override the new themes i want to install? or i will lose all the changing? ThanksWaleed
spott
Each theme has it own .tpl files. But when You changed the default theme and it still in the same folder, then with updates You can loose also Your modifications.
waleedfarrukh
Thanks for replying. So there is no feature available to override prestashop themes? I mean I just customized how things should be viewed for certain products, and restricting instant checkout available for certain products, and limiting buying a product for only 1 in quantity per user. Can't it be made such that I dont have to worry about the view whenever I change the theme.
shokinro
I guest there is no way to override theme file like class and page controller.but if the theme files are a module themes files, then you can override it by creating the same folder same and theme file under your theme folderfor example you can override /modules/homefratured/homefratured.tpl by adding the same file under your theme/themes/modules/homefratured/homefratured.tpl
