how to change grid view in product list from 4 to 3

I've spent the last few hours searching for this answer and most of the links i come across point to a site that no longer exists: http://www.freeprestashopmodules.com/2009/06/30/change-sub-categories-to-grid-view/

I simply need to change the product list view from 4 items across to 3.
