Entering products with attributes

Recommended Posts

This is the first time I have used Prestashop so I am still learning.

I have added products which seems to display correctly with prices but I would now like to add attributes, in this particular case for size.

I have added the list of attributes and can then add these to the product using 'Combinations'. But the price does not change. I have added an increase over the base price but this is not implemented. Not only that but the correct price for the base size is now not showing correctly.

Link to the page is http://www.interior-inspirations.co.uk/prestashop/category.php?id_category=24 The product is 'Montana Single Red' which has a price of £56. If you click on this the product details show a price of £44.80. The drop-down size change doesn't alter the price. Also the quantity is incorrect and should be 3. So I don't know where it is getting this information.

Can anyone help to solve this? I don't understand what is going on here.

I am continuing to try to resolve this and am becoming more puzzled and annoyed.

If I enter a product without any attributes and give it a price of £56.00 everything displays correctly. As soon as I add an attribute, in this case for a single size bedspread, with no effect on price the displayed price drops to £44.80 tax incl. If I then add a double size with an increase in price of £11.00 it shows a price of £56.80 (£12 more). A king size with price increase of £30.00 displays a price of £68.80 (£24 more). I don't understand what is going on here.

I am still trying to add this feature to products. I have now tried using the Product Combinations Generator. This also gives the incorrect prices but I have now noticed that the displayed price is always 80% of the correct price.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a bug? What can I do to correct it?

regards,
Mike

Hi Mike

Don't throw out Prestashop! I'm on the edge of going live with my site and have been working on it since early May. I've had several serious hissy fits but now I'm there and Prestashop is one of the best.

For prices I don't use the prices tab but always use the price field in the info tab. For any price increase - because it has a special feature added or an extra I use the price impact field in the product attribute generator. And I've not had any probs with prices.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!
