rogermac
I am able to make changes to my products in the BO and they successfully show in the FO. However my problem is when I add a new sub-category in the BO is does not show in the FO.My SettingsOn the "Performance" page within "Smarty" my Smarty setting is On and Force Compile is Off. I am using Smarty 2 as Smarty 3 is incompatible with my theme. On the same page within "Caching" the setting is No as I do not have Memcached installed. In addition my categories block (module) is set to show level 5 which is more than ample as the level that's not showing is level 3.WorkaroundI have found two temporary workarounds. Either (1) I go to /tools/smarty_v2/cache and clear all the cached files or (2) if I set my Smarty setting to Off the new sub category shows correctly in the FO without the need of emptying the cache folder.SummarySo in summary, if Smarty cache is Off the new sub-category shows in the FO, but if On it doesn't unless I do the workaround of clearing the cache folder. Please can someone advise what might be causing my Smarty Cache function not to work properly. Is it anything to do with file permissions as I have recently moved my site from one server to another and I know this can cause file permissions to default to certain values. Or is it possibly to do with settings Or is anyone aware of a bug.

WebWoman
Thanks, Rogermac, for posting your work around. Deleting the cache files also worked for me. Wish I knew what the answer to the problem is. I thank you for the work around, though. Tina
