Product image hover not working

Hi guys, this one is really bugging me and have spent all day on it and cant find any mention on the forum.

Basically, when the mouse hovers over a thumbnail on the product page, the larger image is not replaced with the thumbnail image. Also, the large image is not updated when specific combinations are selected.

I HAVE TRIED:
1. I have reloaded the product.tpl and product.js files incase there was any corruption
2. I tracked it product.js in Firebug:

When I hover over a thumbnail:
- product.js get to line 426 "function(){displayImage($(this));},"
- but rather than dropping into the displayImage function (like the PS demo site does), it just drops down to the next line.

Bump - anyone any ideas at all on this.

I have just been looking back at previous version and this was not working on my host at 1.3 or 1.4.17.

So i am wondering if something needs to be enabled on the server?
