Error in saving changes to language files

Recommended Posts

I was trying to make some changes to the language files (i tried wtih Romanian then i realized the same error happens in french and english as well).

After i make changes to certain lines in backoffice, the changes are not saved AFTER A CERTAIN POINT. Basically it system saves just the first several lines (i did not check how many - 40-50-100 lines), and ALWAYS IN THE SAME POINT if fails to save further . Moreover, it erases everything after that point and the files ( i check in ftp) become smaller.

I mention there are full rights everywhere where should be so this is not a problem of rights.

When i make changes in ftp (i edit directly the file on the server, not using the program itself), the changes are saved. It might be a problem of the way the software work with the server.

Thank you.

it happens always in the same place, in any language (Romanian, English, French). I tried to use different letters, but does not matter, the behaviours is the same. I do not use special characters, no accents, no language specific characters: simple letters. I even tried non sense words, in case there was a problem with one specific character.

To give you an example, in the first translation document (Front office translation), it always happens when i reach "My account - 13 expessions", the 3rd line is always the cause - "Orders". Even if i skip it, still there will be nothing saved past the 2nd line which says:" Welcome to your account. Here you can manage your addresses and orders.". Basically "Welcome to your account. Here you can manage your addresses and orders." is the last line saved always in all languages.

I repeat i can make perfect changes in the ftp, directly in the files, but it is somewhat disturbing.

Moreover, another small issue: all languages created using the backoffice facility (copy files to a new language) will cause all these files to be owned by "99" and with chmod 644 so you cannot edit them in ftp. So what i do, is i first copy the files in ftp and then i create the language
