[Solved] How to remove cache? categories problem. 1.42

Recommended Posts

I've changed my category names but the changes do not appear on the front end. If I turn the cache off in the preferences, the category names change in the front end, but once I turn the cache on again - the categories goes back to the old names.

That's what I did, but once I set cache to on again, all the category names goes back to the old ones... why would I want to keep cache off at all the times? I thought turning cache on and off will reset itself.

  • 4 weeks later...

usually switch off/on from back office should work.
but some time, it seem not working, I have the same experience.

There is another cache (not Smarty), setting is at bottom of Preferences - Performance, it is better to switch off/on too(if you are using it).

I've turned everything off and it's still working. On the long long I would like to enable it; but now that I'm configuring my store, changing the template, logos, CSS etc, its pretty problematic to reflect the changes.

I'll try to fix this on the following week and report back to the forum on my experiences.

Cheers,

Ok, I think I’ve resolved this issue; I’m using prestashop most recent version 1.4.3; Just go to Preferences->Performance->Force compile->

yes, this works for changes on theme files.
you should set it to force compile during your modification of site.
