whywhy
I've changed my category names but the changes do not appear on the front end. If I turn the cache off in the preferences, the category names change in the front end, but once I turn the cache on again - the categories goes back to the old names. Dreamtheme
Go to Preference tab in BO then Performance and click no to all cache related things. I mean not only cache but CCC too and Cache on both options, the one under Force compile and the other at the bottom.
whywhy
That's what I did, but once I set cache to on again, all the category names goes back to the old ones... why would I want to keep cache off at all the times? I thought turning cache on and off will reset itself.
Dreamtheme
Did you turn off all cache options?
whywhy
Yea, if I turn Smarty cache off then it works. But it says it should be enabled except for debugging.
Dreamtheme
Show screenshot at your preference screen what you have turned off exactly
whywhy
Fixed manually by deleting everything in tools>smarty_v2>compile and cache folders.
Dreamtheme
Yes this works too
rmalla
There has to be an easier way of doing this; I'm editing my original page and I have to manually delete the cache content folder each time I make a change. Please collaborate here. Cheers,
shokinro
usually switch off/on from back office should work.but some time, it seem not working, I have the same experience. There is another cache (not Smarty), setting is at bottom of Preferences - Performance, it is better to switch off/on too(if you are using it). rmalla
I've turned everything off and it's still working. On the long long I would like to enable it; but now that I'm configuring my store, changing the template, logos, CSS etc, its pretty problematic to reflect the changes. I'll try to fix this on the following week and report back to the forum on my experiences. Cheers,
rmalla
Ok, I think I've resolved this issue; I'm using prestashop most recent version 1.4.3; Just go to Preferences->Performance->Force compile->This helps on the development stage.Cheers.
