First timer to Prestashop and now installing 1.4.2 and run into problems with file permmisions.

Hi Fellas,
Am a shopping carts novice and attempting to install the Prestashop 1.4.2. Just managed to upload to server through FTP and have created a database and given it permissions according to instructions through MySQL Database on my control panel. But when i type www.mystore.com/install in my web browser nothing happens but am redirected to the yahoo search engine. Any ideas or pointer to information that can help.
