[Solved] Cannot access to front office from a host in LAN, but back office is fine !!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have a problem with front office and I wish to receive some helps.

I’ve already installed Prestashop 1.4.0.17 on my Windows 2003 Server (localhost with IP : 192.168.1.9), I can access to both front office & back office without problems when I’m standing on this machine.

But the problem is : When I’m standing on another machine in my LAN, I cannot access to the front office , but I can access to back office without problems.

For example, when I’m standing on the machine with IP 192.168.1.10, on firefox browser, I type : http://192.168.1.9/prestashop/ , the browser returns : “The webpage cannot be found” and on the address bar, the address http://192.168.1.9/prestashop/ automatically changes to http://localhost/prestashop/.
When I type : http://192.168.1.9/prestashop/admin100/ to access to back office, It’s fine, no problem occurs, I can access my back office just like when I’m standing on the server ( 192.168.1.9).

I decided to build a local DNS server with domain name anhmtshop.com. I used the CNAME for the server 192.168.1.9 is http://www.anhmtshop.com and on this machine, once again, I can access to front office and back office by this domain name without problems. But on the 192.168.1.10 machine, I can’t still access to my front office but the back office is still fine.

I’m using PHP version 5.2.3 in appserv-win32-2.5.9 and using Window server 2003 SP2 to host the prestashop v1.4.0.17.
I haven’t published the web yet.

Anyone can help me access to my front office by another machine in my LAN ?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi,
maybe is due to some SEO related settings involving only the Front Office.

In the BO, go to "Preferences-> SEO & URLs". On the bottom of the page, after the full URL list, check the value of "Shop domain name". Set it to "192.168.1.9". Probably now is set to "localhost". This settings is a very important feature involving canonical URLs.

Ciao

Hi !

I have still a problem like this...

I'm in local and when I type : localhost:8888/prestashoplocal/adminp I enter the BO well and everything is fine.

Now I've changed domaine name to www.domainename.com and SSL to localhost:8888

I don't know if it's normal but when I go in local to www.domainename.com/prestashoplocal I enter my website well but with in center "PAGE NOT FOUND" (!!! This page does not exist anymore).

All my links are working fine but when i click I enter my online website so www.domainename.com/prestashoplocal changes to www.domainename.com/fr and not www.domainename.com/prestashoplocal/fr (for example).

Is there any solution to fix this?

regards
