Possible to build search on a site that pulls results list from prestashop inventory?

I was wondering if anyone has ever taken a php search on a non prestashop site and used that search to populate a set of results. what Im trying to do is this- I have a client that sells architectural plans- they are also architects that provide services- they want a static site that gives information about their architectural services but with a search that is able to direct customers to their prestashop inventory without having to browse the whole site or use a filter or advanced search- they want an advanced search on the front end site.
