50cent
Hey all,Our site is hosted on a shared server, and I just got a shared SSL cert for it.Our site is http://www.happylaptops.co.uk which is where prestashop is installed. However, I have somehow purchased the SSL cert for http://secure.happylaptops.co.uk.'>http://secure.happylaptops.co.uk.There is a virtual host set up that points http://secure.happylaptops.co.uk to the root folder where prestashop is.Is there any way to get prestashop to work with this subdomain SSL that I have bought? My webhosts refuse to change the cert over to the main url for me.Thanks in advance guys
Roberto125
Good evening 50cent,please make a test here: https://www.networking4all.com/en/support/tools/site+check/and tell us what you see. From which Certificate Authority do you have this SSL certificate ? From VeriSign, GlobalSign, Thawte, GeoTrust ?Best regards,
50cent
Hi, thanks for your reply.I tested using your site for http://secure.happylaptops.co.uk where our SSL is installed and this was returned: * - SSL Certificate is not expired * - Site is listed in the certificate * - Organisation details are listed * - Encryption strength is at least 1024-bit * - Signature Algorithm is strong * - Accepting low encryption cipher suites * - No connection upgrade to 128-bit for old browsers * - No Extended Validation on company details * - No Debian weak key present * - Known security issues present for this Certificate AuthorityThe SSL is from commodo. So it does seem to be working for the above subdomain, but there isn't a SSL for the root http://www.happylaptops.co.uk and my hosting provider tell me they can't switch the SSL cert over.Do you think I can get this to work with Prestashop, does the fact the SSL is for the subdomain mean i won't be able to get it to work with prestashop? Thanks again
50cent
UPDATE:I have added 'secure' as a subdomain of our site from within prestashop: admin>tools>subdomainAnd now it almost works! When you go to checkout the site automatically redirects you to https://secure.happylaptops.co.uk and the SSL is working.However...It seems either cookies / session info is not available since items in the shopping cart disappear and you can't log into your account on the front end.So now, I need to know how to rectify this problem? So see the error, go to http://www.happylaptops.co.uk add something to the basket then click 'view' or 'checkout' and you will see the item vanishes from the basket. Can anyone help? Many thanks
