prime1974
Hallo all.I have been reading a lot of topics on E-Mails problems, but there is nowhere any detailed description on how to configure correctly the Mail function, OR the requirements to make it work.I am bound to a windows 2003 server and have sendmail for windows (by indigostar) installed on it. Trying with a simple standard php mail() command my server sends out mails without any problems in HTML and TEXT. When I try to send out mails from the website, using for example the form to recommend a product to a friend, i get the shop response: "Mail was send correctly." using sendmail - but the shop doesn't seem to try to send out a mail via sendmail. I have been checking the log file for my sendmail and there is not even one letter about my request from the shop.Is there maybe something important to know about special deals on sendmail for windows?Otherwise I try to connect to our local exchange server via smtp with the correct settings and I always get:There is 1 error : 1. An error occurred during the process. This kind of error reporting is not very efficient and I ask myself if there is a way to figure out where the problem may be. I have been speaking to the guys who installed the Exchange server to figure out if there is a problem with firewall settings, but there ain't any problem with firewalls. It is more. In the log we can see that the system is communicating with the Exchange Server, but it won't send mails. There is no clear information on errors or anything.I have been going a 1000 times with the technician through the settings and the settings are completely correct. As I am bound to this server and can't just change hosting I would need urgent help on this topic. At least it would be a great favour to know where I would have to start searching the problem. Many thanks in advance to all who try to help.RegardsPrime
Guest
Did you check your firewall rules?...
prime1974
As I am not the admin of the servers I requested to check the firewall settings and the technician told me that there was everything fine with it. He even send me a communication protocol of the request and the webserver is communicating without any problems with the exchange server. It is not very probable that the problems come from there. :SBut anyways thank you very much for your hint
