[Solved] Importing Combinations adding extra characters to options

Recommended Posts

I am having a problem with the characters -, being added in front of the Options/Attributes field when I import a Combinations CSV file.

When I import the CSV file (see attached) everything looks fine on the Import page (see Prestashop-Import-Combi.png). On the previous page I have indicated the correct delimiters (see attached Prestashop-Import-Settings.png).

After the import I get the additional characters (see the attached Prestashop-Combinations.png). Oddly enough the last three do not have this problem.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thank You!

Thank you, I'll look into that!

I did figure out that Open Office Calc works much better than Excel to create CSV files (you can choose your own delimiters). Also, I had commas in my Options, which Prestashop did not like at all, even though I was not using a comma as a delimiter.

So after moving to OO Calc and changing the commas in my options to something else, everything works!

However, after saving my spreadsheet as a CSV file, I also opened it in a text editor to see if I could see any problems and I noticed that there were spaces at the end of some of the the options fields. ie. "option name ", so I think that may have been causing what seemed like duplicates. It's obviously a good idea to look at your CSV file in a text editor before importing. :-)

<br/><br/>That's great that you have found the decision of your problem. If you would have any questions on Store Manager for PrestaShop, you're welcome to contact our support team.

I downbload and checked the Store Manager but I think that does not allow to import attributes and stock related to attributes. This post is about Importing Combinations, so please can you tell how to import combinations of attributes and associate them stock, etc?

Thanks in advanced.
