False Visitor count in BO

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me. I have noticed that on occasion the visitors on line feature in the back office appears to give incorrect log? It shows number of visitors on site as example 100 yet they are all the same IP address?

The other thing i have noticed is that if someone clicks on the preview icon when googling, and they hold their mouse over my site info, this shows up as pages and as individual visitor viewed when in fact they are not actually on my site so again giving me alot of page views and visitors yet it is only one visitor?
Any advice on this would be really helpful.

I am using PS v1.3.7.0
