How to send language iso code to new function?

Hallo all.

I am writing a new function and I would like to send the actual used content language iso code of the shop to this function in order to use my function correctly. I have been searching a long time for a global variable which stores the iso language code.

I would like to call my function like this:
Modules::myFunction(isoLanguageCode);

How do I get the language variable (value for isoLanguageCode)?

Is there somebody who could help me out with this topic?
