Buy 5, get one free - how to configure ?

Recommended Posts

Hello
Instead of offering discounts on quantity or offering free shipping, I would like to offer an extra product for customers ordering over a certain threshold.

For example, for a customer ordering 5 items of the same product I would like to add in his/her order the 6th one for free.

I am using PrestaShop V4 and I can't seem to find any options for this.

Does it exist or if not is there some clever way of getting round it?

Thank you anybody for your help?

This is interesting. As far as I know there isn't an option within PS to do this so you will have to think of a clever work around. My initial thinking was to offer the buy 5 and get one FREE as a combination. If they select that combination the price will be adjusted and they will be charged for 5 items and receive 1 FREE. This way they could see it in their cart.

Just my thoughts. I'll play with it somemore and see if something works better.

Thanks for the help. Of course it would have to work for 5 and over (sorry to be difficult but it does seem a legitimate request from my customer).

I never claimed my idea didn't have any bugs :)

Just shy of making different combinations (e.g. 'Buy 5 get 1 FREE', 'Buy 10 get 2 FREE', 'Buy 15 get 3 FREE' etc.) you could just clearly state "Buy 5 Get 1 FREE" and let them enter the quanity they want in the box. Then fill the order accordingly.

Thanks Marty
That sounds interesting but what exactly do you mean about the "fill in the order accordingly"?
Sorry, but I am only starting out on this PrestShop adventure!

:-) All I mean by that is fill the order according to how many they enter in the quantity box. For example, if they enter 10 and checkout -- you will naturally ship 12 items. That is all I meant. Nothing fancy.
