APG1972
Hello, I am unable to set official smtp and email Prestashop module after upgradind to version 8.2. I have tried many changes: ssl, tls, port... nothing happens, the error code changes but the email module cannot be set up. For example: This one when using TLS and port 465: Expected response code 220 but got an empty response This one when using TLS and port 587: Expected response code 250 but got code "550", with message "550-Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable 550-Sender address is not allowed. 550 1N8GhM-1t3Zk01nXs-014jrK " Another developer from my hosting serviceinstalled Prestashop from scratch and the result was the same. Is there anyone with the same problem and got a solution?! Thanks in advance.

What is you mail provider? Expand My email provider is Ionos. The point is that when the shop was version 1.7.8. everything worked fine. After updating to 1.8.2. from a scratch installation, it failed.

With TLS, the Port should always be 587. With SSL, the Port should be 465. Sender details is not allowed by the SMTP service. Have you tried with other SMTP details like Gmail etc. Also, check with the email service provider as well. So I guess the problem is in my email service provider (Ionos). But it´s very strange that the same setting worked with PS version 1.7.8.

I have just tried with a gmail account and it works. So the problem should be in Ionos email service. Anyway, this is very weird.

So I guess there´s something collinding between IONOS and PS 8.2.1. (or its email module). Solution: to use a gmail address and let´s seen in the near future if a domain email can be set up. The email is hosted in Ionos, as the domain, so it´s a local email. But the point (you are right at that) is that it looks the hosting doesn´t allow the connection to PS. Weird, so finally I set Gmail up and it worked.
