ZeChevalier
Using Prestashop 8.1.6. When I click "Send a test email" under Design > Email Theme, and try to send a test email it shows "Test email for layout test was successfully sent to example@example.com" but the email is not in my inbox or in the spam folder. Sending automated emails when making sales etc works fine, but I need to send tests to make some changes and make sure they work.
Prestashop Addict
Which domain are you using for test? May be a DKIM, SPF, DMARC issue.
ZeChevalier
How do I check/modify which domain the test uses? I only assumed it uses the same domain that sends when I make a test order through the website front end. Edit: In the Advanced Paremeters > E-mail settings I have "Use /usr/sbin/sendmail (recommended; works in most cases)" checked. ZeChevalier
Sorry, the website won't let me edit my post without approval, but In the Advanced Paremeters > E-mail settings I have "Use /usr/sbin/sendmail (recommended; works in most cases)" checked. Do I need to set custom settings there?
Prestashop Addict
ok misunderstood, I asked about the domain of the email you use to test (ex: @gmail.com). Does it the same email you use for transactional?
ZeChevalier
Yes, I used a Gmail.com email for the test. The email sends from my website domain. The issue is actually deeper than I thought however, I just realized that my newletter verification emails also do not send, instead they get the error smtp 550 "message rejected", but if I manually confirm these newsletter requests the confirmation email sends fine, which leads me to believe there's a problem with the verification link. Could Hostgator be marking my verification emails as a potential security threat?
