Question about editing CSS with visual css editor

Hi,

Some time ago I made a theme using prestabuilder.com. I downloaded and installed the theme and it worked fine.

However after updating the shop to 1.7.8.11 the theme does not look great, so I wanted to make some changes. I used the visual CSS editor plugin in chrome to visually adapt it, and export the changes to css. I added the css to public_html-themes-customtheme-assets-css and to the file custom.css. However nothing changes visually on the site. Did I do something wrong? I also tried adding the css code to theme.css but also nothing changed. Can someone help me? Where in the css file do I need to put the lines of code?

Its best to test the update procedure in localhost or another server.
Can't you go back to the former Version?
