1.3 to 1.4 template compatibility

I came across a template originally designed for 1.3.6.x, what would it require to update it so it would be compatible with 1.4?

when you use prestashop 1.4 all of your included file must be in "" like this : {include file="$tpl_dir./breadcrumb.tpl"} if you use this form you will get an error in your theme .
I think this is one of important things that you should know about it .

It depends on how customised the theme is really. I found it easier to re-alter the default theme to get it back to the correct layout.

That theme is not going to be easy to upgrade to 1.4 as it says that core modifications are required, without knowing what these are then its difficult to upgrade.

Try sending a message to the developer and asking if they are going to do a 1.4 version of that theme.
