T-bird
Went to log in to my back office today and I got this: The shop has been working fine until today and I have made no changes whatsoever. I'm using PS 8.2.0. Anyone know why this suddenly happened and how I can fix it?
Ewonta
Disable the ps_edition_basic module or rename the module folder temporarily, for example ps_edition_basic_tmp along the path /modules/ps_edition_basic Check the php version
T-bird
Thanks for the reply. I renamed the module folder as you suggest however the log-in page now just comes up completely blank. The php version I'm using is 8.1.31 - to the best of my knowledge this hasn't changed and it has worked fine until yesterday. The front office hasn't been affected and continues to work without any problems, so I don't think the php version is an issue? Ewonta
The error unexpected 'string' typically occurs when the syntax for typed properties is used, and it indicates that the PHP version is not compatible. Please double-check your PHP version. Edited January 19 by Ewonta (see edit history)
T-bird
I raised a ticket with my hosting company and they made some change(s), though they didn't say what they did. I can now log into the back office, however most of the images on the customer facing side have disappeared, though they are still visible in the back office. The host company is also saying the PHP version may be the issue, however this does not explain why everything worked fine with the existing PHP version up until the log-in issue occurred. Ewonta
Try clearing the cache and regenerating the images, and also look in the browser console to see what error it is writing.
