Amish Gramish
Can I have multiple downloadable items per catalog item? Such as:Item:How To PDF Parts 1-3Files:How To Part 1.pdfHow To Part 2.pdfHow To Part 3.pdfOr can I only sell them as one different item for each different download? Amish Gramish
^BumpIs there any way to upload more than one file for a single product, or can I only upload one product per item?
diffy
I am trying to figure out the best open source ecommerce for virtual products. I have found that Magento (www.magentocommerce.com) can do that, you can add as many downloads as you wantbut why not just zip the files?
Amish Gramish
Yeah, I know Magento does that, but people have told me that it is hard to navigate (I am even having trouble trying to navigate through it after spending about 20 hours on both the front and back ends of it).And that's one of the many reasons why I prefer PrestaShop. Now, only if PrestaShop included something like that... DaveGetStock
as diffy suggests, why dont you put the files into a zip file? Or if you really want each file downloaded seperatly, have the product as a downloadable 'thankyou' note and include the links to the download location

Yes, I don't feel like going for Magento, it seems waaay to comprehensive. Its powerful, but Prestashop quite simply works betterI wish I could make what I'm trying to do, to work tho:)
Amish Gramish
I pretty much just wanted to make it easier for people to download if they don't have very fast internet connections. It would be better if I hosted 10 30MB files than if I hosted one 300MB file for the aforementioned customers. Also, I think the downloading of the one file with links to the others wouldn't be as safe and it might just lead to too much confusion. There was even a recent report that said that 50% of online sales are lost because people can't figure out how to purchase stuff. And my website would be fully functional now if I hadn't messed with Magento so much. (Pretty much I can spend another fifty something hours on Magento or about ten on PrestaShop. I think I'll choose the latter.)Well, thanks for the help anyways! Amish Gramish
There isn't anything yet.I thought it looked like 1.3.0.3 had multiple download files, but they just turned out to be attachments that you can download without purchasing the product.I mean, why can't they just make it so we can set up a bunch of different files for people to download?I asked for this here:http://www.prestashop.com/bug_tracker/view/1336/And there hasn't been anything done with it since.
stacebrown281
use Magento. I use it for almost 2 years. And there's no problem about Magento.
Amish Gramish
use Magento. I use it for almost 2 years. And there's no problem about Magento. Using Magento is like:1. living in a place where you have to pay to breathe air2. hitting your face on a keyboard.I just can't stand it. The community is horrible, they don't make anything for anyone to use for free (almost everything is frakkin' expensive). They have removed features that once were part of their "Community" edition and made it so you have to pay $10,000 to have many features that are already included in PrestaShop. It is also ridiculously unconsumer friendly compared to PrestaShop. No thank you.
