Nothing appers in my browser

Hey guys,

I am sorry in advance for what may seem a dumb question. I am really having problems with the installation and the main one is that I can even begin installing. So I installed WAMP, created a subfolder "shop" with the contents of the shop and removed the read-only check of the folders that I had to(I didn't know how to do this step though: do not apply these permissions recursively. When I type in localhost/shop/install in my browser nothing appears. I think I set IE (I'm using the latest one) to be my default one when asked, but when I try to load it from IE "The page cannot be displayed" appears. When I try on Firefox or Safari, not even "The page cannot be displayed" appears, the browser simply remains blank. Please let me know what I do wrong, any help is appreciated! Thanks!
