Adding New status to a product

I have some products imported a while ago without pictures and never activated; now I would like to activate some of them but would also like them to be listed as New products which is not happening now because their date is old. How would I do that ? I probably would have to change a date field in the DB but want to make sure which one and don't risk to do any DB damage.

Hello, you can go Back Office >> Preferences >> Products , and select "Product modified date" for Default order.

Thanks for helping but if you are referring to the Number of gays the product is considered new, this would nor help because that would make all the products new, I want only selected products to have the status new.

I am encountering the same problem, there are some products that I want to be considered as "New" without changing the field "Number of days during which the product is considered 'new'" . Anyone has any idea how to change the date for a separate product? I would not know how to change the DB.
