[SOLVED] Tested Paypal module via Sandbox, now what?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Finally I managed to make the Paypal module 2.4 work with my Prestashop 1.3. Now what? I went to Paypal web site and there´s too much information to be digested in order to make the module operational for real. I read a lot and I can´t figure out what to do now.

I have a business verified account. How to make the module work?

Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Thank you.

If instructions were clear and well done, would be not so much call for help about Paypal module in this forum.

I´m dealing with computers since 80´s, code in assembly, C, now tweaking with PHP and HTML. I can put and admin a server or any OS to work with no problem at all. But I have to say that instructions in Prestashop are not so great as you suggest in your post.

Not much help, but thank you anyway.

I don't know what is the exact Paypal problem you are facing. Maybe you would like to explain your problem more in details.

If your problem details were clear and well done, there will be more reply and help for you.

Ok, let´s try to explain what I thought was well explained, but differently.

I already tested the Paypal Sandbox and everything worked right. No doubts here. Now I want to go from test to production. I looked more than 3 hours about how to do that and did n´t get it. Last time I spend so many hours in something like that in Prestashop, was trying to understand Shipping configuration, which you must agree is not so easy to figure out without help.

I´m not an English native speaker, maybe my first question in this topic was not clear the way I thought.

All right, I thought you was a native English speaker. My bad.

So I assumed you face problem in your Paypal when uploading to a "live" server? I need to know what errors you are facing, e.g., blank page in Paypal, paypal orders not showing up and etc.

Anyway, did you try configuring Paypal API? Under Paypal modules, there is a setting tab which you need to input your Paypal API details. Leave the API password blank though.

Lastly, which version of Prestashop are you using? Prestashop 1.3.2.3 ?

I´m using Prestashop 1.3.2.3 and Paypal Module 2.4.

No, there´s no error messages because I´m using Paypal Sandbox and everything is working right. But I´m want now use for real, take order with Paypal real payment. I don´t know the steps to move from test to real. My Paypal credentials are all for test. I tried the Paypal help but I´m overwhelmed with lots of options and I don´t which one is right to this Paypal module. Maybe is clear to everyone, but unfortunately I´m not seeing what looks like is a piece of cake for everyone over here.

Do you know about any tutorial explaining this subject?

To move from test to live, you have to have a business account with Paypal (NOT Paypal Sandbox). Your business account has to be verified with Paypal too.

After moving to live, you have to re-configure your paypal module. At the configuration page, select "Settings" tab:

- Check on "Inactive" for Sandbox mode (tests)

- Check on "Direct sales" as Payment type.

Then, generate the Paypal API signature @ your paypal business account page. For more info of getting the API, please refer to

- Fill in API Username & API Signature

Once this is done, click on "Save Settings".

If you are still having problem, you may wish to fall back on using PayPal module v1.7.1. I have a shop running on Prestashop 1.3.2.3 and it's using Paypal module 1.7.1 perfectly.

xbfish,

Thank you a lot! Besides the time I spent trying to find where in the Paypal account you generate the real credentials, your step by step helped me to solve the problem. My store is now working with Paypal.

With help like this the beginners like me one day will become experienced and may also help in the forum.

Thank you again.

Ps: To generate the API credentials in your Business verified Paypal account, go to Profile/more options.
