Change visibility on product listing in BO

Recommended Posts

Hi all

in a very old PS version (1.6 or probably thirtybees) i was able to change the product visibility directly from the product list page in BO.

PS 8.1 doesn't have this feature, are you aware of any module that does something similiar?

Hi,

You referring to change that the product is active or not, correct?

No, that's already possible

I'm referring to set the product visibility only on search results, on both, on catalog and so on.

I'm referring to this

Old PS version (thirtybees for sure) had a rapid flag on the product listing page in BO, with PS 8.1 we have to open one product at time to change this flag.

You need a module to add this feature, or do it directly in database if you have skiil.

That's why i've asked for a module, in the first post.....

Are you aware of any module that does this ?

We are adding this option of updating in QuickUpdate, so you can change it from there as you asked for a module.

Of course being a mass-update module you can change it for one product or multiple products at once.

I can't (and I don't want) to provide customer a mass-update function. It used some years ago in a different shop engine and did A LOT of issues every time, so we were forced to remove the mass-update from the old shop saying that the new one doesn't support this feature. We can't enable that again.

It is not *required* to do mass-updating, you can change each product one by one if that is your cup of tea, but for those who are competent enough it is an additional feature that helps save a lot of time.

We have lots of customers using it successfully and without any issues for years.

This is because in QuickUpdate mass editing / mass updating is a two-step process - that is - you first make all the changes in the interface and and when you are ok with them, you "update" the changes in the store; until then you can "undo" any changes you made (as shown at the end of the demo below). This way you are way less prone to making unwanted or problematic changes.

Attached demo, of single product and mass-update for visibility:
