sylwekb
Hallo When I try to cleanly install Prestashop, I get the following message and the installation does not go further. What is the cause and how to solve this problem? An error occurred during installation... You can use the links on the left to return to previous steps or restart the installation by clicking here. 1: 1. QuickUpdate.net
Above "solution", like many other so-called solutions to the Prestashop 8 (8.1.6 & 8.1.7) installation issues proposes the deletion of some modules in the installation, something that is not necessary, below solution works consistently. There are 3 main issues in the installation process of Prestashop 8.1 - most (2) of them are essentially coding complications thus unnecessarily introduced by poor "upgrading", attached 3 modified files you need to overwrite to get the installation working. Steps to get installation working: 1. Unzip the install zip of Prestahop 2. Do not open / start the installation 2. Identify the files in the zip (do a file search) in your unzipped install folder and make copies of the originals in an "originals" folder 3. Overwrite the files in your unzipped install folder with the files in the attached zip 4. Open / start the installation and follow all steps without issues 5. Copy the original files back in your installation 6. Go to Backoffice, you might get an error - click "Enable debug mode" 7. Backoffice loads, go to "Advanced parameters > Performance" and disable "debug mode" 8. Backoffice go to "Shop parameters > General > Maintenance" and enable store prestashop8_installfix.zip Edited August 9 by QuickUpdate.net (see edit history)
janoo
Suggested https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/issues/36541 didn´t worked for me. So I simply ignored this error during installation fresh new PS 8.1.7 Basic and also Classic (both ended with error), and I continued with deleting/renaming folder "/install". Then I started BO and FO without errors, but also without demo content - which crashed during installation.
