[MODULE] Customize native redirection for disabled products

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This module will allow you to customize the redirection applied to all new products in your catalog, to be used when you deactivate these products.

Originally, PrestaShop applied a 404 redirect on deactivated products, which is a very bad practice as it simply deletes the product, which we know to be a problem in terms of SEO and user experience.

Here, you can force the redirect to the one you feel is most consistent with your business, a permanent or temporary redirect to the product's default category.

This is the best way to offer a coherent alternative to your customers' searches, and it also helps search engines to better understand the structure of your product catalog.

And we can't stress this enough: you shouldn't delete products from your PrestaShop catalog, but rather redirect the product file towards a response to your customers' needs.

The redirection to a product is done directly on the product when deactivated.

As this functionality is native to PrestaShop, I don't think it's relevant to develop another system.

But maybe I don't understand exactly what you need and the specificity of your request.
