MJ_C
Hello, we have a situation where SOME customers are going through checkout and leaving the preselected country as UK when they are from another country. Whether this is malicious or not, I am not sure, just to avoid shipping costs. What I think would solve it for those that legitimately did not realise is if the country selection started as BLANK, so the customer is FORCED to select a country. One suggestion way back was to create a new country that started with a <SPACE> but trying that does not appear to solve the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards Simon
Prestashop Addict
Shipping cost should be calculated on delivery address. I don't really understood how the can select UK for shipping?!
MJ_C
Thanks for replying. As UK was pre selected, some customers either purposefully leave UK selected and put their country elsewhere in the address and hope it won;t be noticed or some just don't see that they have to select a country. To get around this situation again, as it's happened a few times, I created a new country called "<SPACE> Choose Country" so it shows at the top of the country list, then I changed the ZIP code for it so that zip code of LNLNLNLNLNLN was required so the customer would be alerted to the issue. I then changed the LOcalisation default country to <SPACE> Choose Country. This way when a customer goes to checkout it will have Choose country pre selected and even if the customer fails to notice the country sector, when they enter the postcode it will alert them. I tried removing parts of the required address / phone / name in the New "Choose Country" but on testing got some error pages so left as few details as the website required. ANyway, thanks for replying. Kind regards Simon
