PrestaShop 1.6 Search Index Bug: Cpanel Cron Task

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering a strange bug with the search index in my PrestaShop 1.6.x.x store. Here's the issue:

When I delete a product, any other product that shares a word in its name also gets deleted from the search results.
Manually rebuilding the search index resolves the problem - the remaining products reappear in the search as expected. However, due to access limitations, this isn't a viable long-term solution.
I've attempted to set up a cron job in cPanel to automatically update the search index, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've reviewed various forum posts, but haven't found a definitive solution.

Cron Job Configuration (replace with your actual command):

wget https://www.mywebsite.com.br/adminmywebsite/searchcron.php?full=1&token=w19mntqS&id_shop=1

Any advice on how to troubleshoot this issue or a different approach to keep the search index updated would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

1st it is very bad practice to delete products if you wish to rank. Better is to place a not available at this very moment.

Prestashop and most other shops used in the EU, USA, Australia and other countries are pretty complex and fiddling around with one part can interfere in the smooth running of another.

Can you undo the delete?

Sorry, english is not my main language. I think theres being a miscomunication.

Search index within the prestashop, for searching produtcts within the website. Not goolge ranking.
