possibility to deactivate the function for ps_connections

Hi guys,

I have a small question.
after almost one year I see the site is running slower and slower.
this seems to be due to this function :
SELECT * FROM `ps_connections_page` WHERE id_connections IN (SELECT `id_connections` FROM `ps_connections` WHERE date_add < LAST_DAY(DATE_SUB(NOW(), INTERVAL 1 WEEK)));

every visiter runs this query and since i have over 1720095 records in the db, this takes a lot of time.

Is there a way to no longer register this connections since I use google analytics?

ps I still use 1.3 version :-) (latest one)

maybe my question is not good enough :-)
if I dissable all the stat's modules in the backoffice, are the functions like above disabled? or are no records longer inserted into the db?

Thats a valid question, I too need to clear these tables... anyone have any ideas?
