pickup at local store with local VAT calculated regardless of where customer lives/resides

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm looking for a module that can do the following:

- allow a customer, regardless of where they live, to select pickup of products at our local Belgian store and apply/calculate Belgian VAT to the order regardless of where that customer lives.

- if possible allow the customer to select a pickup at an event we attend (show/trade fair/popup etc) and apply the VAT of the EU country where that event is held, again regardless of where that customer lives.

In the addons I came across 'Personal Pickup at Store - Drive & Collect' (https://addons.prestashop.com/en/collection-points-in-store-pick-up/19849-personal-pickup-at-store-drive-collect.html) which seems nice and possibly a match for what I'm looking for.

And before you tell me: YES I have contacted the developer of this module through Prestashops marketplace more than 6 months ago, but I'm still waiting for their response to my questions :(

So does anybody have experience using this module in the situation described above OR does anybody have another module to suggest that could handle my situation?

kind regards,
Kenneth.

I think PrestaShop has this feature built in, you just need to set which one your tax calculation depends on.
You just tell the customer to add another address that will be used to calculate taxes, and that's it.

Hello ZHSoft,

Of course I already have Prestashop setup to calculate tax based on the delivery location, otherwise I would be in breach of EU VAT rule 🙂

But the idea behind my question is to have the PS webshop automatically assign/link/create/overrule (whatever you want to call it) our predefined pickup location address to the order when my customer selects 'pickup at place X'.

Asking my customer to create a pickup adress manually sort of defeats why we use computers (to automate things and make our lives easier) and it would definitely ruin the UX.

kind regards,

Kenneth.
