EgilO
We are selling from outside EU to EU customers by using the EU IOSS system which in short means: We charge VAT from customer and forwards to customs in EU country Shipment is electronically coded with an IOSS-number, telling Customs officer that VAT is already paid, ensuring simplified customs processing (no customs fee nor VAT is charged when goods arrive in destination country). The system only applies for B2C sales up to a maximum value of 150 EUR. For Business customers, we shall not charge VAT, they will be charged VAT and customs fee when goods arrive. So the checkout process needs to identify customer as either Business or Consumer - and register Business name in the case of Business customer. How do we configure this in Prestashop? musicmaster
The standard way this works in Prestashop is that when you enter a company name it will assume that you are a business customer. In that case an extra field opens where you can enter a VAT number. When a VAT number is entered no VAT is charged. That is how it works when selling from one EU country to another. I am not sure whether that also works from outside the EU.
