strange amount added to prices

Using 8.1.1

So, I have a product. Price is set at £5.25 inc taxes and I have everything set to display as including taxes.

I add 10 products and the total is £52.53 where is the extra 3p coming from??

Its kinda driving me mad.

My rounding setting is at half way round up so that shouldn't be affecting the total.

Hello, always try to attach screenshots of what you say, for example I would ask, are you sure the price is exactly 5.25?
From the accounts it seems to me that it was something like 5,253

Thanks for your reply. 

I can see where it is coming from now but still not sure why it is doing it.

Its from a discount being applied which does bring the price to 5.253

I have attempted to account for this with the settings such as round down and the currency which is GBP set to 2 decimal places but it still wishes to take into account the third decimal place.

You have also settings for the level at which rounding should be applied: product, order line or order. 

Usually it is best to keep the prices with VAT so that they are rounded at cents. But even then things can go wrong when you have discounts in percents.
