tank
I get lots of fake registrations ( which I don't understand their goal in doing so) Somtimes they enter the wrong email address. I think Prestashop is the only ecommerce platform that does not confirm email address.
ps8modules
Hi. There are many extensions, modules that solve this. Yes, it is as if it should be a standard feature for non-registered customers. For a new registration, you can set up email verification in Prestashop.

endriu107
Email verification don't protect your shop against spammers accounts all it does is leave spammers account not active but they still will be visible in BO.

I strongly disagree. 1) prevents wrong / miss typed email from being entered into account . When that happens the customer does not receive order details, tracking number etc. Do you think that is good for business? You be surprised how many customers can't enter their own email address correctly. 2) prevents emails sent to people who never registered or visited website. Who then mark it as spam, giving the stores email address a bad reputation which then gets marked automatically as spam by spam algorithms. The spammers use other peoples email address, which spammers can do if there is no email verification This is why email verification is needed.
endriu107
@tank no you are wrong, email verification is not solution against spammers. This is a tool to prevents wrong or miss typed email. Quote The spammers use other peoples email address, which spammers can do if there is no email verification This is why email verification is needed. If you have email verification your store is still send email to verify this email, so this is not argument. Most spam accounts are created by bot, to protect store against spammers you must block them before they create account not after.
